Exhibition History: Henry Art Gallery, Seattle, Washington, curated by Sheryl Conkelton and Joan Kane, June 11 - October 3, 1999. Description: A large screen was stretched floor to ceiling under a curved balcony. Projected liquid streams filled the screen from both sides forming a waterfall off the edge of the balcony. The shadows of the viewers effected the speed and color of the image and soundtrack as they passed by sensors in the gallery. I came across an incredible optical illusion that occurred after the falling water was stopped by a viewer walking passed one of the sensors, the stopped image would appear to move mysteriously upward. This was supported by an NEA grant, enabling me to research spatial interactivity for the first time.
